103 Synthesis and Photoluminescence Property of Strontium Cerium Oxide (Sr Ce O ) Phosphor doped 4 2 7 3+ 2.0% Eu

Abstract : Sr Ce O : 2.0%Eu phosphors were successfully synthesized by modified solid state 4 2 7 0 diffusion method. The powders were fired at 1200 C for four hour at the rate of 3000 C/hr. The present paper reports the morphology and spectroscopic study of Sr Ce O : 4 2 7 3+ 2.0%Eu phosphors. The powders were characterized by XRD, SEM, and luminescent properties by excitation and emission spectra. Photoluminescence study indicated 3+ 3+ that strong energy transfer occurred between Eu and host. The Sr CE O : 2.0%Eu 4 2 7 3+ emission could be tuned from blue to white light by varying the concentration of Eu . 3+ The CIE co-ordinates are x=0.27 and y=0.25 for the Sr Ce O : 2.0%Eu phosphor. This 4 2 7 phosphor can be a candidate of display devices applications.
