| Abstract : The seeds of Boswellia serrata Roxb. Show poor germination in controlled condition B serrata is medicinally important plant species this study was conducted to determine the effect of different pre-treatments on seed germination. The study aims to develop the efficient protocol for seed germination of an endangered medicinally important forest tree species Boswellia serrata Roxb. The results showed that seeds treated with gibberellic acid (GA3) and indoleacetic acid (1AA) achieved maximum germination in B serrata. The other treatments such as Sulphuric acid for 30 min , KN03 1 % for 30 min thiourea 1 % for 30 min also gave significant result mechanical scarification on well as hot water treatment for 850c for 30 min also gave significant increase in overall germination percentage.
