India. | By : Santosh Mahadeo Talekar | Abstract : Study has been made on biodiversitical studies of Chlorococales (Chlorophyceae) in Jalgaon Nala of Ashti Taluka in Beed district during the period from June 2009 to May 2010. Algal samples were collected at monthly interval form five sites of Jalgaon Nala during the period of investigation. Microphotograph and line drawings of algal taxa were made by Digital camera and camera lucida. Algal taxa of Chlorophyceae were indetified with the help of standard monographs and recent literature. In present study included nine genera. Viz Treboux,Torcchicia,Pediastrum ,Hydrodictyon, Teraedron, Oocystis,Botryococcus,Coelastrum and Scenedesmus were recorded. A total 9 algal genera with 22 species Chlorococales were recorded in present biodeversitical study. Among thies Pediastrum ,Hydrodictyon, Teraedron, Oocystis, Coelastrum and Scenedesmus were dominant compared to other taxa. | | | Author Profile | Full-Text PDF | |

Nawargaon tahasil Sindevahi of District Chandrapur (M.S.), India. The people
from these region with a vast heritage of diverse ethnic culture and rich
biodiversity is said to be a great emporium of ethnobotanical health. Studying
medicinal plants helps to understand plant toxicity and protect human and
animals from natural poisons. Nawargaon is surrounded by dense forest and
the people collect the medicinal plant by their traditional knowledge which is
used for some common diseases. Cultivation and preservation of medicinal
plants protect biological diversity, for example metabolic engineering of plants.
The present survey was conducted for documented of traditional knowledge
and practices of plants. The present paper enumerates traditional uses of 48
